2017 Weekend Schedule

Civil War Days is different event every year.
Even though we do not change the starting times of Major Activities from year to year,
please be aware that all participants are volunteers and, therefore, some minor changes are unavoidable.
Be sure and check back closer to May 19, 2017 for any last-minute changes.

All activities will take place at our Period Town Square and encampment located next to Home Pond

> THE School Day Program will take place as usual, from 10 AM – 1:30 PM Friday, May 19, 2017
> on Saturday, May 20, 2017 our large afternoon battle starts at 2:00 PM
> on Saturday, May 20, 2017 our dramatic Night Artillery Fire starts at 9:00 PM.
> on Sunday, May 21, 2017 our large afternoon battle starts earlier than ever before at 11:00 AM

We are proud of our support for collaboration among reenactors and were an active participant in & sponsor of the 2011-2015 Iowa Civil War Sesquicentennial Celebration.

We are particularly indebted to the community of Lamoni for its support in blood, sweat, tears, and money.

We also thank the Iowa Arts Council, Humanities Iowa, Iowa Tourism, Living History Farm,
and the numerous individual lovers of history for supplying our event with a roster of world-class living historians over the years.

We are always on the hunt for additional activities that broaden the appeal of Civil War Days and that might be particularly popular, and we will continue to do so right up until the event itself. As a result, we may add additional speakers and performers in May, so check back for schedule updates right up until the May 19 weekend.
