2007 Civil War Days produces award-winning photograph of President Abraham Lincoln.
Taken by Kelly Chamberlain and titled “Lamoni Lincoln”, this photo was selected from a field of 350 submitted in the “People” category and was crowned the Best Photo at the 2008 Iowa State Fair.
Be sure to view the rest of his Lamoni Civil War Days photos on his web site.
Kelly emphasizes that he is strictly an amateur photographer and is actively disinterested in doing any commercial shoots.
Congratulations to Kelly.
Visit us in Lamoni this Labor Day weekend and take your own award-winning photos of period-authentic living historians: infantry, cavalry, artillery, physicians, nurses, tradespeople, American Indians, snake oil salesmen, musicians, Presidents, greedy war profiteers, civilians and others. All in a family-friendly atmosphere where there is never an admission charge or parking fee.
If you are a serious photographer or a videographer and would like to photograph any portion of our event, we welcome you. In order to make our event a success for you, we typically hold a photographers’ orientation on Friday afternoon and, as a result, can provide you with access greater than that given the general public – but you must contact us ahead of time.
These photographs were taken by numerous photographers both amateur and professional.
Many were taken by our local professional photographers, Dennis Piepergerdes and Stacey Badder, both from Lamoni.
If you wish to purchase any photograph or would like to contact any one of the photographers, feel free to connect with them directly.
This section will always remain under construction for the right reason:
we will add new photos from time to time and re-arrange pictures on a whim. Please check back to see any new pictures.
